'Bowlers have done well'

Pune Warriors’ captain Sourav Ganguly was impressed with his side’s bowling in the tournament but struck a note of caution when it came to Pune outfit’s chances against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“We’ve just stuck to our job,” said Ganguly during a media interaction here on Monday. “The bowlers have bowled very well for us. The fact that in the last four T20 games we have not let any team get past 160 on good batting surfaces shows that we are bowling well. But as I said it could be different tomorrow. We have to wait and see.”

The Royal Challengers slumped to a humiliating loss to Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday night and Ganguly praised the inaugural champions for their showing on a good batting pitch. “The wicket looks good. They (Royals) scored 190 yesterday and we’ll be playing on the same surface so I don’t think we will see too much of a change. In this format no one is favourite. RCB has got some terrific players and hopefully they don’t fire tomorrow as well. I thought the Royals played brilliantly yesterday and there was some superb batting by a few (Royals) players. But tomorrow is a new day and it could be different,” said Ganguly.

Tuesday’s match will see Bangalore lads and former RCB players Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey return to the City, and despite their inconsistent shows, Ganguly expected the duo to come good. “Well, one guy (Rahul Dravid) played very well in front of his home crowd yesterday so hopefully we can do it tomorrow,” said the left-hander with a smile.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers’ Mayank Agarwal assured that the team was confident of a turnaround. “There is no point going back in time trying to figure out what we have done wrong. We rather learn from what has happened and go on from there,” he said.
