'Sarvadharma sammelan' in water!

All religions should travel together in lifes boat, say religious heads

They were part of a water rafting event organised by Youth Affairs and Sports Department in association with General Thimmaiah Adventure Academy on Tuesday. Different religious heads enjoyed the beautiful moments of the water sports amidst the scenic beauty of nature.

Sharing his experience, Siddaganga Mutt junior pontiff Siddaganga Swamiji said water adventure sports gives enthusiasm, energy and effulgence.
He said he has had a rare experience out of the event. “Such sports are helpful to one to face the difficulties of life. It imbibes courage within. Government’s step to encourage this sports is commendable,” he said.

Fr Benedict Gomes from Bangalore said rafting by religious leaders of different religions during a single event is indeed a new experience. “People belonging to all religions should travel in the same boat called life,” he appealed.

Apsar Ahmed representing Islam said the programme is a good development. People of all religions should lead their life with unity and harmony of this kind, he advised.
Bantheji representing Buddhism and Shanthamallikarjuna Swamiji of Arameri Kalancheri Mutt were also of the same opinion. A total of 23 religious heads took part in the event.
