Mahindra unveils 2 new scooters

Both the models fitted with a robust 125 cc engines incorporate technological and design inputs from Taiwan’s SYM and Italy’s Engines Engineering and are available in a choice of nine shades.

Briefing reporters, Mahindra Group Vice Chairman & Managing Director Anand Mahindra, said “this launch is a validation of the commitment we made last year to establish a robust, end-to-end global two wheeler business with a presence across segments.” 

International appeal

Backed by their international appeal and powerful performance, he continued, both the new models are world class scooters and they seek to extend the Mahindra DNA of ‘tough & rugged’ style to a whole new consumer segment. When the Group took over the two-wheeler business of Kinetic scooters, then owned by Firadia family of Pune, Mahindra pointed out that there were sizeable number of skeptics were aghast at his group foraying into segment, which was perceived to be almost down and out.

 “At Mahindra Group, we took it as an opportunity to straddle the entire automotive eco-system to emerge as a full-range player with a presence in almost every segment of the automobile industry,” added Mahindra. M&M Two Wheeler Sector President Anoop Mathur said “with the introduction of both the models – which offer the comfort and convenience of a scooters coupled with the thrill and power of a motorcycles, they have created a new market segment for Power Scooters in India with a presence across segments.”

Both the models are fitted with ergonomically designed seats to ensure a comfortable journey for both the driver and the pillion rider, it said.
