'Rajkumar's films depicted social values'

The state unit of the BJP  ST wing Ashok Kumar said that Rajkumar has given the audience socially-oriented films which can be watched by the entire family.

Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rajkumar, organised by his fans association he said in none of his films one can see scenes of smoking or consuming alcohol. He promote moral and social values through his films.

Karunadu Kannada Rakshana Vedike secretary G Balaji said that the old Mysore Bank circle be renamed as Dr Rajkumar circle.  Member of the town municipal council Satish Murthy, BJP youth president Mohan, Venkata Reddy, Usman Khan, Chandra Mohan, office-barers of the vedike Manju, Ravichandra, Harish, and others were present.

The 84th birth anniversary of Rajkumar was celebrated by various associations, organisations and fans. Pujas were performed to the portrait of departed thespain and sweets were distributed beside meals were served. Events were organised in association with the department of Kannada and Culture.

On the occasion a Kannada activist Suleiman Khan was felicitated with a citation of ‘Abhimani Kannada Fan 2012’ in the presence of the Kannada Rakshina Vedike General secretary, Jayadev Prasanna and pro-Kannada organisations in the district.

A K Somashekhar, Kannada sene, Karnataka district level president and artist Vishnu, advocate and honorary president K R Dhanraj, District level president of Jaya Karnataka Venkataramanappa, KGF Kannada Association president B H Shekharappa participated. Karaoke singer Gulzar and his team presented Rajkumar’s songs.

Pulikeshi Kannada Association observed the anniversary in the Sangha premises. A puja was performed before a picture of their idol and distributed sweets. CMC president S R Murali Gowda and others were present.
