4 killed, 2 hurt in accident

Four people died and two were injured when the car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a KSRTC bus near Hallikhed (B) village of Humnabad taluk on Tuesday morning.

Sunil Sidrama Kamble, 27, of Marakal village and Shivakumar Mahadevappa Majjage, 29, of Marur in Bhalki taluk died on the spot, Suryakanth Lakshmanrao Biradar died on the way to hospital and V G Kalmadi died at a Hyderabad hospital, where he was undergoing treatment. Nagendra and Santosh, who were injured in the accident, are admitted to a hospital in  Humnabad.

Police said all of them were on their way to Bijapur in a car for a function, while the bus was on its way from Humnabad to Bidar when the accident occurred.
