JOIN USIB Akshay marched in the semifinals of the AITA Champions Series tennis tournament with a facile 6-3, 6-0 win over Vasudev Vijayaraman in the boys’ under-16 category here at the Century Club on Wednesday.
Akshay joined Gnana Bhaskar PV and Gagan Sharma in the semifinals.
In the girls’ section, Pragati Nataraj and Devanshi G Bhimjayani stormed into the under-18 and under-16 semifinals with comfortable wins in their respective quarterfinal encounters.
Pragati outplayed Samriti 6-2, 6-1 in the under-18 quarterfinals and she outclassed Bhavani Balakumar 6-1, 6-2 in the under-16 last-eight encounter.
