CBI files third charge sheet against Jagan

Adding to the woes of the already embattled Andhra Pradesh government, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its third supplementary charge sheet in the disproportionate assets case against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the First Additional CBI Court at Gaganvihar Complex in Nampally on Monday.

The 88-page charge sheet, with 142 documents and 72 witnesses names Jagan as the accused number one, his auditor Vijay Sai Reddy as accused number two (A-2), Jagathi Publications as A-3, IAS Officer G Venkatrami Reddy (at present District collector of Srikakulam) as A-4, Ayodhya Reddy, Chairman of Ramky Group of Companies as A-5 and Ramky Pharma as A-6.

The CBI has slapped cases against the six accused under sections 420, 409, and 13 (1) and 13 (2) under the PC Act.

The CBI had filed the first charge sheet on March 31, followed by a second one on April 23. On Monday, after filing the third one, the CBI did not rule out the possibility of filing more charge sheets as the investigation into the case proceeds.

The third charge sheet contains details of undue favours granted to Ramky Pharma company during the regime of Jagan's father and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy.

Ramky Infra has been accused of depositing a huge sum of money in the accounts of Jagathi Publications owned by Jaganmohan Reddy.

The CBI, in its fresh charge sheet, mentioned that 1,700 acres in Paravada Pharma SEZ has been allocated to Ramky Pharma for investing Rs 20 crore in Jagan’s firms under quid pro quo arrangement. Ramky Pharma also got another 77 acres in Polepally SEZ in Mahbubnagar district.
