Addressing a press conference here, she said the Utsav is being conducted for the past 49 years since 1961, and preparations are at full swing to make the present one historical.

There will be scholarly talks on the heritage of Karnataka and Sharannavarathri, Siddanta Shikhamani for awareness on religion, the society dreamt by Veerashaivacharya, Veerashaivism and social values, religion and national integrity, folk literature and Veerashaivism, religion and social conscience, and role of women in building a righteous society to mark Dasara Darbar, she informed.

A sabhamantap with 5,000 seating capacity is being built for Dasara Darbar. The KSRTC has been requested to arrange special buses on Sindigere, Devanur, Aldur and Lingadahalli routes for 10 days. If people from other places request, they will also get the facility, she said.

About 4,000 people will take part in the event everyday. Over 8,000 visitors expected in the last day. Arrangements will be made to serve food to all visitors, Gowramma  informed.
MLA C T Ravi said the ‘purapravesha’ of Balehonnur Rambhapuri pontiff will be held at 5 pm on September 18.

He will be received in a procession from Bolarameshwara Temple to Renukacharya Kalyan Mantap. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, former CM H D Kumaraswamy, MPs D V Sadananda Gowda, H D Deve Gowda, KPCC President R V Deshpande and various other guests will take part in the 10-day event, said the Samiti Working President K B Mallikarjun.
