'None infected with H1N1 died in Udupi'

Speaking at the blood donation camp organised jointly by Udupi G Shankar Family Trust, Jilla Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane and KMC, Manipal, he said all the donations aim at the welfare of the people. Blood donations plays an vital role in saving the life of a person.

He said “Udupi district is a forerunner in human development index owing to the importance given to education, cleanliness and health field.

The infant mortality rate in Udupi district is equivalent to the developed countries of the world. The infant mortality rate in some of the districts in the state is 75-80 per 1,000.
He also assured to release a grant of Rs 5 lakh towards the development of road leading to Bagwadi Sri Mahishasuramardhini Temple from MLC grant.

G Shankar Family Trust President G Shankar presided. Baindur MLA K Gopal Poojary, district Yuva Mogaveera Association President M S Sanjeeva Kota and others were present. The blood donation camp aimed at collecting 1,000 unit blood.

Manjunath Mogaveera Bantwadi, a handicapped person, also donated blood on the occasion.
