Tension at FTS circle: Police arrest one

 N R police, investigating into the attempt to set Dr B R Ambedkar’s flex board at FTS Circle on fire on Friday, have achieved a breakthrough arresting a youth in the case on Saturday.

Bheemraju alias Bheema, aged 25, son of late Shankar and resident of Gandhinagar is the accused. The police had picked him up on Friday for questioning. He was produced before the magistrate on Saturday night and has been remanded in judicial custody.
Lashkar police have taken two suspects into their custody.

According to the investigators, it is the handiwork of a larger group of around 20 to 30 people.

Postal staffer ends life

A postal employee has committed suicide allegedly by hanging at the farm belonging to horticulture department in the city on Saturday.

Gangadharmurthy, working at the packing section of Speed Post at the Sayyaji Rao road office is the deceased.

A resident of Gangotri HUDCO Layout, he left home early in the morning on the pretext of having coffee.

He was found hanging later at the farm. According to his wife Roopa, her husband was a binge drinker. She had taken him to a religious place three days ago, to dispel him from continuing with his habit. It had borne results with he staying away from alcohol for the past three days. However, he had gone silent since then.

Depressed of leaving the habit, he may have taken the extreme step, Roopa suspected.
Jayalakshmipuram police have registered a case.
