<p>To fight for the land, which the farmers have been cultivating for generations, Inam Bhoomi Santhrasthara Horata Samithi was formed on Monday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>At a meeting, it was decided to constitute a committee under the presidentship of G Bheemeshwara Joshi. MLA M P Kumaraswamy, MP Jayaprakash Hegde, MLC Motamma, Gayathri Shanthe Gowda will be the honorary presidents. <br /><br />Speaking on the occasion, Venkatasubbaiah said inspite of available documents to prove the rights over land, the High Court has passed a judgement against the interest of the farmers. <br /><br />Gajendra Gorasukudige said before the high court declaring Inam land as forest land, no reality check was done. There is close relations with the residents of Malnad and the forest. If Inam land judgement is implemented, then several thousand farmers will be displaced in Kalasa alone. <br /><br />Taluk panchayat member Sheshagiri said that Law Minister Suresh Kumar has suggested us to file an application in the High Court to review the decision. The Minister has promised to help the victims in case, if they decide to approach the Supreme Court. <br /><br />K R Bhaskar said “we have to fight for our land. We have to submit all the available documents to urge the Court to review its decision.” <br /><br />Ramanarayana Joshi of Horanadu said “the farmers should get ready for Bangalore chalo, hunger strike in front of Vidhan Soudha. It is the duty of the government to solve the problems faced by the people.” <br /><br />Srinivas Hebbar said “we have to prove in the court that the 11,000 acre Inam land is not forest land.” <br /><br />G Bheemeshwar Joshi said “we have to question the gazette notification of 1928. The government should come to the rescue of the farmers by amending the laws.” <br />MLA M P Kumaraswamy announced Rs 1 lakh, to carry out the fight for protecting Inam land. <br /><br />Farmer ends life<br /><br />Fearing of losing the land,if the court order on Inam land is implemented, a farmer committed suicide at Devaragudda in Kalasa on Monday. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Paul Pinto (57).<br /><br /> It was said that Paul was cultivating coffee, arecanut, pepper, cardamom in his land for the last 30 years. However, he was worried over losing the land.</p>
