14 teams take part in 'Know India' quiz contest

Parishat President Jayachandra, Vyadam Enterprises proprietor K K Damodar, Parishat patron Dr M G Patkar were present on the occasion.

Gonikoppa Lions High School student Neelam Kuttappa secured the first prize in the high school section while Kaikeri Calls student Abhishek Kariappa and K G Harshavardhan won the second prize.

In primary school section, Gonikoppa Coorg Public School’s Eshani Sathish and Niveditha Nanaiah team got the first prize, and Palibetta Lourdes High School’s B B Janan and T B Sumanth team secured the second prize.

As many as 14 teams took part in the primary school section. Of them, six were selected for finals. A total of 11 teams participated in the high school section of which six teams were shortlisted for the final round. The first prize winning students will represent Kodagu in the State-level competition. C S Suresh and Asha Shenoy conducted the competition.
In his presidential address, Field Marshal K M Kariappa College Hindi Department Chairman Dr Sridhar Hegde said quiz plays an important role in strengthening memory and mental ability of students.

K K Subramani and B S Gagan, students of Cherambane Aruna PU College were presented with a special prize of Rs 1,000 cash for scoring 30 out of 30 in the written quiz.
