RTOs de-stress, relax at Bannerghatta

Divided into two batches (35 officers in each) and spread over two days, a training programme is being held at Jungle Lodges, in the Bannerghatta National Park. The first group of officials from the department completed their training on Saturday.

Speaking on the idea behind the initiative, Bhaskar Rao, the Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety said a private corporate trainer, Jatin Kumar of ‘People Skills’ who has trained staffers from Infosys and Wipro has been roped-in to impart the training.

“While corporate in the private sector have such regular de-stress initiatives for their staffers, it is the first time that the State Transport Department has decided to have such a programme” Rao said.

As many as 70 officials, including Joint Commissioners, RTO’s and ARTO’s are being made to de-stress in a 24 hour programme (10 am to 10 am) at Bannerghatta.
The out-door itinerary aims towards personal excellence and includes team building, personality development, trekking, nature walking and even fun games according to officials.

“This is in continuation of the ‘Manthan’ programme initiated by the Chief Minister, as part of administrative reforms . We are spending Rs 2,500 per head. The job being extremely pressure oriented, the Department thought it apt to organise this” added Rao.
