The deceased has been identified as Jubba Honnaiah (50), a head constable attached to Bangalore City Armed Reserve police and a resident of Gudadahalli. He was travelling on a two-wheeler when a speeding car rammed into his vehicle.
According to the police, the accident occurred when he was returning home after visiting his relatives at S Gollahalli near Tavarkere at around 7 pm. Due to the impact of the collision, Honnaiah was thrown up in air and sustained severe injures. The car driver fled with the vehicle, added the police.
