JOIN US In a shocking incident in the capital, a 14-year-old girl approached police alleging that she was sexually assaulted by her father for a few months, police said on Saturday.
The victim, who is the eldest child of her parents, lives with them and five other siblings at outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy. Her father Ramashre, who is a mason, is from Bihar.
In a complaint to the police on Tuesday, the victim told police that Ramashre raped her for the first time around three months ago, when she was alone at home.
“Since then, she has been sexually assaulted by the accused several times. Four days ago, she reported the incident to one of her neighbours, who approached the crime against women cell along with the victim. A case was registered,” said a police officer.
She tried to tell her mother about the incident but could not as the accused threatened her
of dire consequences.
The victim was taken to Government Hospital for medical examination where doctors confirmed rape. A hunt is on to arrest the accused.
