<p>IPL Pune Warriors player Rahul Sharma who along with his teammate Wayne Parnell was detained on charges of drugs abuse at a rave party in Mumbai on Sunday, broke his silence saying he has “never tasted beer, forget drugs.”<br /><br /></p>.<p>Sharma said he was confident of coming out unscathed and said he would quit cricket if found guilty of the charges.<br /><br />Addressing newspersons today in Jalandhar on Monday, Sharma said he did not know what a rave party was, and that he had gone to the party on a casual invite extended to him by his friends and fellow cricket Parnell. “I was told it’s a birthday party. I was there only for about 20 minutes. Just had fresh lime soda,” he said. Maintaining that he had done no wrong, Sharma said his teammates know that he does not drink. “I don’t even taste champagne during team victory celebrations,” he said. <br /><br />“When we reached there, it seemed like a normal party. The cops wanted to check us, and we allowed. We were then taken to the hospital. They cleared us after the breath test,” Rahul said. Asked about the Facebook invite by the organisers, Rahul said he knows nothing about the Facebook invite as he does not follow Facebook.<br /><br />Rahul and his teammate Wayne Parnell were among the nearly 100 people who were detained at the Oak Woods Hotel in Juhu on Sunday. They were later released. Amid talks of some more IPL players at the party, Rahul said he did not see any other IPL player as long as he was there. <br /><br />South African cricketer Wayne Parnell on Monday said that both the players were present in the party at the Oakwood Premier Hotel, but said they were unaware of any drugs being supplied there.</p>
