JOIN USThe Lokayukta SP U P Shivarama Reddy and his team raided the office of the sub registrar, on Monday and recovered various documents.
The raid was conducted around 4.30 pm and the document writers and agents were taken into custody. The cash that was found on them was counted and documents were scrutinised.
When the documents with sub registrar Nagendrakumar was checked it was found that there was an excess cash of Rs 46,000.
The Lokayukta SP Reddy asked him to account for the cash and Nagendrakumar replied that the cash was with one Vijendra. Unhappy with the reply, the SP took him to task wanting to know why the cash was with another person when he was the sub registrar.
The raid was going on even after 8.30 pm. An agent Mohan who was working in the sub registrar office since the past twenty years tried to escape. The public grew suspicious of his movements and informed the Lokayukta staff who subjected him to interrogation.
The other members who participated in the raid included DySPs Jayaram and Parashuram, inspectors Dharmendra and Gopalkrishna and other staff.
