MPs' dream of red beacon nipped

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister P K Bansal said, “The Congress president Sonia Gandhi was very clear on the subject.

“She said let the states do whatever they want to, but the Government of India (Centre) will not issue any notification for MPs to have a red beacon atop their vehicles.”

The Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, who refused to use red light on her vehicle, has expressed her reservation of MPs’ demand for using red light on their cars.  Though, Members of Parlimanet have been demanding the government to allow them to use red light, the Home Ministry is yet to give any clearance.
