Last Updated 14 September 2009, 18:35 IST

Karthikeyan Gokul Chandran, son of senior IPS officer in his petition sought directions to the RGUHS to declare his final examination results, which has been withheld. The Governor on September 1, 2009, had directed the RGUHS for a re-examination and submit a report.
On 10 September 2009, an endorsement was issued by the Government allowing him to seek justice based on Rish Hussain case.

On 3 February, 2007, the then Governor had directed the RGUHS to give 13 marks as grace to Rish Hussian, final year BDS student. The same relief can be granted to the petitioner in the present case, the Governor had stated in the endorsement.

The petitioner said he had failed in the practical exams in Oral medicine and Radiology paper though he had scored first class in theory paper through out the year. After his complaint to the Governor and Vice-Chancellor of RGUHS, the University had appointed the enquiry committee, the petitioner has pointed out.

Based on this a re-examination was ordered. Justice BS Patil has ordered notice to RGUHS Government Dental college and Research Institute.
