HC resumes hearing on MBBS admissions

The Supreme Court on September 2, 2009, had stayed the August 19 order of HC following a special leave petition (SLP) by the Medical Council of India (MCI) stating that it will lead to excess admission in deemed universities.

During the hearing, Advocate General Ashok Haranahalli submitted that the two deemed universities had themselves given an undertaking that they would surrender 25 per cent of the seats to Government in both PG and UG courses.
