35 IAS officers transferred

The first major reshuffle after DVS took charge as CM

The State government on Thursday conducted a major surgery to the bureaucracy by transferring 35 IAS officers. 

The transfer has come at the time when the government is organising the second edition of Global Investors’ Meet on June 7 and 8. 

This is the first major reshuffle of IAS officers after Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda assumed office in August 2011.

M N Vidyashankar, who was Principal Secretary DPAR (e-governance) and IT and BT department (in-charge), has been made new Commerce and Industries Principal Secretary. Yogendra Tripathi is new Commercial Taxes Commissioner and Pradeep Singh Kharola is the new BDA Commissioner. The post of IT and BT Principal Secretary has been kept vacant.

In the top bureaucracy, Subir Hari Singh, who was ACS-Development Commissioner, has been made ACS in the cadre post. Kaushik Mukherjee, who was ACS, Forest, Ecology and Environment, has been made Development Commissonier. 

C S Kedar and Anita Kaul, who returned from the Central service, have been made Bangalore Development Authority Chairperson and Principal Secretary Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics respectively. 

L V Nagarajan, who was Principal Secretary to Finance department, has been elevated to ACS rank in the existing posting.

Besides, Mysore City Corporation Commissioner Raikar has been transferred and posted as General Manager (Administration), Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation, Bangalore. 

The government also appointed Kanteerava Studio Managing Director N R Vishukumar as the Director of Information department.
