The Lokayukta police on Thursday submitted all the documents related to the charge sheet filed against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and former industries minister Katta Subramanya Naidu to the Special Lokayukta Court.

The Lokayukta police had submitted a charge sheet on May 21 implicating Yeddyurappa and Naidu, in a private complaint originally filed against Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani. Judge N K Sudhindra Rao has adjourned the matter to June 8, after receiving the documents which run into more than 2,000 pages.

The Lokayukta police filed the charge sheet after investigating a private complaint filed by Alam Pasha alleging favouritism to companies owned by Nirani during the Global Investors’ Meet and also denotifying land illegally in Hoovinayakanahalli and Dobbespet.

Nirani himself has been absolved in the case as the police submitted that the decision to denotify the land was taken by Naidu when he was the industries minister. Pasha told the court that he would submit his objections to Nirani being absolved, as there was evidence about his involvement.
