Mumbai Indians sign Stuart Binny

Last Updated 15 September 2009, 17:34 IST

The 25-year-old, just back in the official fold after two years in the Indian Cricket Club, becomes the latest in a reasonably long list of Karnataka players that originally signed up with the Mumbai  outfit – Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Ryan Ninan and Gaurav Dhiman. Interestingly, none of them is a part of the Sachin Tendulkar-led set-up now.

Binny, who has been in roaring batting form for Karnataka in the KSCA tournament and the Buchi Babu tourney in Chennai, has yet to hit his straps in the Karnataka Premier League, but had paraded his Twenty20 skills with breathtaking effect for the Hyderabad Heroes in the ICL. Binny had played a key role in the Hyderabad side’e entry into the final last year, where they went down to the Lahore Badshahs.
