State staff get more medical benefits

“The Central medical reimbursement rates are almost equal to rates fixed for various treatments in top private hospitals in Bangalore. As a result, the State Government employees can get better medical treatment from now on,” sources said.

Earlier, medical reimbursement rates were quite low. For instance, Rs 200 had been fixed as ward charge per day, while the Centre offered Rs 1,000 per day.

However, the reimbursement rates differ according to the pay scale of the employees.
