Gunrunners busted, five pistols seized

With the arrest of two youths near Okhla Metro station, police claim to have busted a gang of suppliers of illegal firearms.

Five pistols, 10 cartridges and five spare magazines were recovered from the possession of Shekhar Kumar, 24, and Bambam Kumar, 19.

During investigation, it was found that Shekhar had purchased the pistols and cartridges from a man named Rajkumar in order to supply them in Delhi through Bambam.

“Shekhar had procured the pistols from Munger and brought them to the city. Bambam had developed contacts with criminals and ordered the pistols for customers,” said Ajay Chaudhry, additional commissioner of police (south-east).

But they came in contact with a police informer and were apprehended.
