Lending her voice to Sunny

Besides directing Jism 2, actress-turned-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt is all set to lend her voice to lead star Sunny Leone’s character in the film.

Jism 2 marks the Bollywood debut of the Indo-Canadian porn actress and Pooja says she is dubbing for Sunny’s role on the insistence of her father Mahesh Bhatt, who has scripted the film. “My father and unit insists on not using a ‘dubbing artiste’ with a generic voice but something distinct,” said the 40-year-old actress-turned-director.

Pooja says the fact that Sunny’s on screen persona Izna was her creation made it easier for her to lend her voice and emotions to it. “It was not too difficult since the character she plays — Izna — has been created by me. Izna is more me than Sunny,” said Pooja.

“People should be delighted! Sunny Leone’s body and Pooja Bhatt’s voice and emotional quotient. Could one ask for more?” she asked.

When asked how comfortable would she be dubbing bold dialogues in the movie, Pooja said, “It depends! I am a woman after all.” Pooja won acclaim with her performances in films like Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin, Tamanna and Zakhm, before turning director with the film Paap in 2004." Jism 2 is the
sequel to the 2003 Bollywood film Jism and is set to release on July 27.

In his father’s footsteps

If there is one superstar whose dialogues are etched in every cine-goer’s mind, it’s Amitabh Bachchan!

News that the title track from Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan has some of Big B’s cult dialogues has been doing the rounds for a while now. The title track, which features the magnificent trio of Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan, is a peppy and fun song.

The track which is also sung by the trio has a number of Big B’s famous one-liners which are being mouthed by none other than Bachchan Jr! Abhishek has added his own flavour to iconic lines like Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Daaru Peene Se Liver Kharab Hota Hai.

This is the first time that these three actors have come together for a song and their chemistry is definitely something to look out for. Ajay Devgan stays true to his character in the movie and translates the Hindi one-liners into his style of broken English which gets you laughing your guts out!

Bol Bachchan is slated for release on July 6.

‘Amitabh is my dream actor’

Film-maker R Balakrishnan aka Balki, who presented Amitabh Bachchan in unimaginable roles in Cheeni Kum and Paa, is gearing up to explore one more side of the megastar in his next, which is expected to go on the floors by the end of the year.

“I am writing a film with Amitji. It will explore one more side of Amitji. He is my dream actor. So I wouldn’t do anything that I wouldn’t want to see about him,” said Balki.

“I can’t talk much about the film right now. It’s too early,” he added.

When asked about the shooting of the film, Balki said, “Hopefully, by the end of this year, we will start the film. We will be shooting the entire film in India.”

There were reports that Big B is not taking too many projects post his surgery, but Balki cleared it saying, “He is absolutely fine.”

In Cheeni Kum, Big B was seen as a sixty plus confirmed bachelor who falls in love with a thirty plus girl, played by Tabu. Paa saw him as a progeria patient.

Umrao, once again!

Muzaffar Ali, the director of the 1981-classic Umrao Jaan, is now planning a sequel to his film. Apparently, he is trying hard to rope in the original Umrao, that is Rekha, for a cameo.

Her performance in Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jaan not only won Rekha her first National Award but also made an entire nation sing the soulful songs of the film.

It was Muzaffar’s first liaison with the camera. After doing just one more film, he retired to a quiet life of designing, poetry and paintings.

Now the buzz is that Rekha might actually do a cameo in a sequel that is being planned to the original film. There is strong buzz that the makers are trying very hard to get Rekha to be a part of the cast.
