French, German classes

Inlingua Bangalore is organising French and German language programmes for interested candidates. The programme is for a duration of 45 hours spread over two months. Talent support exam

»FIITJEE has launched a talent support exam which will be conducted on October 4, 2009 at 46 test centres across India for Class 12 students aspiring for IIT-JEE in 2010.  The Talent Support Exam will be conducted on combined JEE syllabi of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. World education fair

State rural IT quiz

»The Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is organising a statewide rural IT quiz for students from Class 8 to 12. The quiz will be held in the city as part of Asia’s premier ICT event called BangaloreIT.biz 2009. The quiz has been scheduled from November 11 to 13, 2009.
There is no fee for participation but students from schools under City Corporation limits of Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Bellary, Davangere, Hubli-Dharwad, Belgaum and Gulbarga are not eligible to participate. The Rural IT Quiz will be held in various phases including a preliminary round across Karnataka followed by District level, Regional level and State finals.  The preliminary round will be held on September 19 at schools/colleges.  
The District level quiz competition will be conducted on October 3 in each district and the top 50 teams will be selected for the Regional level. The Regional level will be conducted at the following 6 locations: Gulbarga on October 20, Tumkur on October 26, Dharwad on October 28, Davangere on October 29, Udupi on November 2 and Mysore on November 4. The State finals will be held in Bangalore on November 12 at Palace Grounds where the state winner will be selected.

ISB launches ‘Idiya’

»The Indian School of Business (ISB) has launched ‘ISB Idiya’. The competition is being led by students of Net Impact — a social responsibility club at the ISB. Business plans will be evaluated on the following criteria: social business context, business plan and innovativenes, financial sustainability, profitability and social impact. The top five winning teams comprising 2-4 participants will go to a one-week boot camp, where they will network with industry leaders, venture capitalists and mentors. Applications are invited till October, 25, 2009. The boot camp for winners will take place from December 5 to 11, 2009.
