3 killed in accidents

Three people were killed in separate road accidents in the City during the last 24 hours.

An autorickshaw driver died after his vehicle rammed a sign post in BTM Layout, second phase, 29th Main Road.

Nagarajan, 45, a native of Tamil Nadu and a resident of Mangammanapalya, was returning home late on Sunday night when he lost control of his autorickshaw.

He crashed onto the footpath, before hitting a sign board. Sustaining severe head injuries, he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

In another accident on Hosur Road on Monday afternoon, an unidentified person was killed instantly after being struck by a Volvo bus near Garvebhavipalya. The victim is aged around 35 years. The accident occurred when he was crossing the road.

He was tossed in the air, before coming under the front wheel of the bus. The bus driver has been arrested.

In Rajajinagar II Block, a Bank of India employee was killed after she was run over by a private bus on Monday night. The victim has been identified as Nandini, 50, a resident of Rajajinagar.

The accident occurred at Kethamaranahalli Junction when Nandini was returning home in her two-wheeler. The bus brushed against her motorcycle and knocked her down.

The driver of the private bus has been arrested.
