Two labourers held for murder

Two labourers have been arrested for killing a security guard hoping that they will rob huge amount of money from him at Mayapuri in west Delhi, police said.

Jagdish Kumar, 20 and Siya Ram, 21, both from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested in west Delhi on Sunday, said additional commissioner of police (west) V Renganathan.

They had killed Ranjit Ram Yadav, 42, as they believed that he possessed a good amount of money which they wanted to rob from him.

Yadav’s body with stab wounds was found on the terrace of his workplace in Mayapuri on June 1.
The arrest came after a probe into the case pointed the needle of suspicion towards the arrested labourers.

Stabbed with two knives

“They had stabbed Yadav to death with two knives and had stolen around Rs 12,000 from his room,” said Renganathan.

They told police that they were in dire need of money.

Kumar, who had earlier worked in the company where Yadav was employed, was of the opinion that Yadav was keeping a huge amount in his room as he used to organise a monthly chit fund among workers.

“They planned to eliminate Yadav to rob his money,” said Renganathan.
