Kolar APMC gets new president

The election was conducted following the resignation by the former president and vice-president C V Hanumegowda and Ramakrishna respectively in accordance to the pact entered 11 months ago.

The new president and vice-president has the tenure of 8 months. Tahsildar S M Mangala was the Returning Officer.

Speaking to the mediapersons, the new president D M Venkatesh promised to make sincere efforts to provide more facilities to the farmers in his tenure.

APMC has been granted land in the outskirts of the City to dispose the garbage. But as the transportation charges will be high, a memorandum has been submitted to Deputy Commissioner to grant a land inside the City limits, and there is the possibility of action by the district administration, he said.
