Robbers nabbed in Padubidri

Padubidri police arrested four persons who were involved in robbing lorry drivers and decamping with mobilephones and cash.

The arrested belong to Udupi, Kaup Mallar, Ermal and Ucchila Polya. The police have seized car, seven mobile phones, Rs 2,500 in cash and ganja packets.

The gang had robbed a lorry driver, Yusuf, when he had parked his lorry at Ucchila Kunjaru on National Highway 66, in the wee hours of Friday. Another accused who is a native of Hejamady is absconding. The police are on look out for him.

During the investigation, the police found that the gang was involved in looting the lorry drivers at Brahmavar, Udupi, Santhakatte, Udyavara, Adi Udupi. All the five youth were unemployed and were in the age group of 20 to 25.
