Photographer killed; body found by roadside

CCTV camera has not captured images

A photographer has allegedly been killed in the city on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Karthik (23), son of Somashekar, a resident of Gandhinagar in the city.

The body of the youth was found lying on the road connecting Five Lights Circle to Ashoka road on Sunday morning near Farooqia Girls High School and PU College. The assailants had smashed the head of Karthik with huge stones.

Lashkar police, who received the information from passers-by, arrived on the spot and pressed a sniffer dog into action.

The dog led the police to a missing shoe of the deceased inside the college. While the motive is not known, police sources said the victim was chased for a distance before being murdered.

Meanwhile, CCTV camera installed by traffic police at the circle is said to have captured the incident.

However, power outage has resulted in unclear images. Police commissioner K L Sudheer, Lashkar sub-inspector Omkarappa and other officers arrived on the spot. Lakshar police have registered a case and are investigating.
