JOIN USIn a terrific incident, a man killed his wife and assaulted newborn baby with a sickle in the hospital bed, at Moodbidri on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as Jayanthi. The accused is Jayanth.
Jayanthi had delivered a baby boy at the Community Health Centre on Tuesday.
Jayanthi killed his wife and assaulted the child and fled the spot as he reportedly suspected his wife’s fidelity.
Before fleding the spot, he had thrown the weapon near the hospital gate.
The baby who has suffered injuries is undergoing treatment in a Wenlock government hospital in Mangalore.
Jayanth is a mechanic by profession.
He had married Jayanthi a few months ago.
They had pre-marital relationship and Jayanthi had become pregnant when they got married.
