Nine injured in road accidents

Nine persons were injured in two road accidents at Mayur Vihar and Karol Bagh on Thursday.

Five persons sitting outside their houses in Trilokpuri were injured after being hit by a car driven by an 18-year-old boy.

Sagar was learning to drive in his Maruti Ritz car when the accident took place. Injured Janki Prasad, Kanchedi Lal, Raju, Umesh and Mangera were rushed to a hospital. Kanchedi’s condition is critical.

Cops have impounded the car and lodged a case under sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt) against Sagar at Mayur Vihar police station.

A speeding car rammed into three rickshaws and an autorickshaw injuring four persons near Karol Bagh Metro station.

Heena Jain, 27, of Kirti Nagar who was driving the car has been arrested and later released on bail.

Heena was returning home after attending a marriage function when the accident took place around 7 am.

Injured Padam Singh, Ramesh Singh, Babula, and Kirti Lal were taken to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Padam’s condition is critical.
