Understand publishing industry

The National Book Trust aims to form collaborative programmes in book publishing with institutions across India in the next four to five years, said M A Sikandar, director, NBT at the inauguration of the four-week training course in book publishing in Delhi.

NBT has organised this training beginning from July 2-28 at its Delhi office. NBT has recently started a book publishing course in collaboration with Calcutta University. This programme would be interactive and help participants understand the dynamics of the publishing industry.

The programme was inaugurated by R S Mathrani, director general of audit (central expenditure) . Manas Saikia, managing director, Cambridge University Press, elaborated on the digitalisation of books and the publishing industry in India. He said plagiarism of academic books is a threat.
