It’s a big day for Nandan and Rohini Nilekani as their daughter, Janhavi, is all set to tie the knot on July 10. And the Nilekani family is making sure that it’s an occasion worth remembering. The pujas and other functions will start over the weekend and soon after the wedding, the couple will hold a gala reception at a popular five-star hotel on Old Airport Road.

Janhavi, who did her schooling in Bangalore at the Valley School and later went on to Yale, is marrying Shray Chandra, her senior from the same university. Currently, taking a sabbatical from her PhD, Janhavi has temporarily relocated to Bangalore for the wedding. Sources say that after the wedding, the couple plans to move to the US.

Metrolife has learnt that the family has ensured that every minute detail of the wedding reception is well-choreographed and each guest is given the utmost attention. So much so that even the movement of the guests inside the hotel is restricted. While the final number of guests expected has not yet been revealed, the hotel has arranged for parking space for close to 700 cars.

Around 200 guests will also be arriving in a bus.
The reception guest list will include close family, friends, associates and even VIPs like the governor and chief minister of the state. With just days left until the wedding, there’s no end to the speculation regarding what the ceremony will be like.
