Young and refreshing

What happens when a group of best friends from college reunite after four years? A pleasant mix of comedy, romance and slices of life that all of us can associate with. 3 nights and 4 days starring Samir Aftab and Hrishita Bhatt promises to be a surprisingly refreshing change for our recession stricken movie industry.

The movie is about six friends who come together in Goa for three nights and four days to attend the wedding of Rocky (Samir Aftab) with his two year old girlfriend Marianne. But things are not the same with Rahul, Priya and Zoha; they have been busy making their careers and have different ideologies, whereas Amay and Antara are the same.

The friends come together to remember old times, have fun on the beach and enjoy their best friend’s wedding. But surprises and emotional roller coasters are in store as they all witness Marianne backing away from the commitment of marriage.

The story shows how the group evolves with each other and convinces Marianne to come back with Samir as she soon realises that falling in love with Rocky was the best thing to happen to her. Throw in some very catchy songs, hilarious moments and romance; and you have the perfect recipe for a feel good film to be enjoyed by everyone.

Book on diva

Songstress Asha Bhonsle, who has been in the industry for the past six decades is penning down an autobiography, which promises to be a revelation. Says the singer, “Everyone has a good and a bad side. I have dark side too. My autobiography will reveal a few truths about some holy cows. People may not like what I have to say but I have to say it. I don’t believe in being untruthful and living in denial.”

She recalls an experience she had with another diva of yesteryears, Suraiya. “I remember recording Jaake Ladaye Naina Nadiya Kinare with Suraiya for Shama

The last two stanzas were mine. And every time my take would come, she would giggle. Some six takes got cancelled. No one dared correct the beautiful top star. Finally out of exasperation, I told her, Aap aapki hasi khatam ho gayi ho to bata dijiye, phir main gaaongi (please tell me, when your bouts of giggling are over and then I would sing).”

Another feather in the cap

Director Anthony D'Souza, Akshay Kumar and A R Rahman.Bollywood’s much anticipated underwater extravaganza Blue has added another feather to its cap. For the first time in Bollywood, this underwater action thriller launched its music on pen drives and memory chips. And to do the honours were none other than music maestro A R Rahman, who has composed the soundtrack for the film and lead actor Akshay Kumar.

Says Rahman, who is thrilled that his latest album is on a memory chip, “This is fantastic. What one must ensure is that the sound is of the highest quality.’’

Rahman, who has worked for the first time with Akshay Kumar, expressed his appreciation at such a move. “It’s a great idea for the movie industry and I was very excited when I heard about the digital release of the music.”

“Anything new is exciting for people and those, who believe in owning legitimate music, would be excited by this product. It is also a gate opener for future expansions.

Right now the music is going to have MP3 quality and then in future, it could have more high quality WAV files and people can enjoy probably four times better than a CD quality of music. So this is a great starting point.”

Adding to this, Bhushan Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, T-Series said, “The digital platform has become a widespread medium to consume entertainment.”

“India too is seeing a rapid growth of mobile phone and Internet users.

Keeping this in mind, the digital platform is perfect for the music release of a
film like Blue which has already been popularised, in India and internationally. Amongst the many benefits of the digital music launch, the most significant one for us as a music label is a big step towards giving consumers legitimate content and curbing piracy of our content.”

The promos of Blue have already created waves both in India and internationally, The Chiggy Wiggy track featuring international pop star Kylie Minogue is a rage.

The digital music release will allow eager Bollywood and Kylie Minogue fans to access the much-awaited soundtrack of the film directly on their mobilavices.
