JOIN USZilla Panchayath engineering department has not paid the amount for Cesc to provide power supply for 164 borewells out of 271 borewells.
To supply water in the district, 271 borewells were registered.
However, the amount is paid for only 107 borewells to provide electric supply.
ZP engineers blamed
Zilla Panchayath engineers are responsible to pay the amount due to Cesc to get electric supply.
As the amount is due since many months, serious action should be taken against the officers, said member of zilla panchayat G Nagashree.
Funds diverted
Funds released for drinking water supply is utilised for other works by the maintenance department but it cannot be used for getting the electricity supply for bore wells, said engineering department officers.
Proper measures will be taken to provide electricity supply to remaining borewells after discussions, said chief executive officer Somashekarappa.
