Ganesha immersion procession beholds spectators in Chintamani

On Sunday morning at 9 am, poojas started as huge crowd gathered with great devotion. The immersion programmes completed by 4 pm. These Ganesha idols were installed 27 days ago at the Azad Chowk in the town.

The procession of Ganeshotsava was conducted with grandeur and the devotees thronged the roads to catch a glimpse of the procession. They were thrilled to see various Ganesha idols in different forms. Roads were jampacked and some people had even climbed up the roofs of the buildings to witness the colourful event in the town.

Culture showcased

The procession also showcased the cultural and traditional dance forms such as Dollu kunitha, Garudi bombe, veeragase, Nandigala sarotu, chandevadya, Shivagana kunitha, Somana kunitha, Nandi kolu kunitha and other folk culture. Each team was performing in front of one ganesha idol making it a visual delight. Spectators admired the Dollu kunitha particularly at P C R Complex, Bangalore Circle, taluk office circle.

The systematic and planned immersion procession was much appreciated by the public. Volunteers too took part and extended their co-operation. Police personnel were deployed during the procession.
