'Lab to land' in Udupi, Kundapur

The Union Ministry of Rural Development has decided to extend lab to land programme to Udupi and Kundapur taluks, after the successful implementation of the programme in Karkala taluk.

The government had implemented the project on a pilot basis in Karkala, Mandya and Davangere.

“Lab to land” is one such programme introduced recently by the government of India to communicate with the people in every nook and corner of the society through the volunteers and make them to seek the benefits of the development programmes.

The prime objective of the project is to create awareness among the rural people who are ignorant over the various government beneficiary programmes initiated by both the State and the Central government. The programme is taken up by the Department of Rural Development.

Volunteers are picked up for the job for creating awareness among rural folks, however, the mandatory qualification for the post of volunteers is their interest to serve the community.

The Bharath Nirman volunteers will be selected and given intensive training, according to a press release.
