Youth's death on road sparks violence in Sakleshpur

Annoyed residents of Sakleshpur staged an intense protest on Bangalore- Mangalore national highway here, following the death of a youth in an accident between bike and tanker lorry.  

A riot erupted after Faraz (23) of Kushalnagar layout was killed on the spot after the lorry hit his bike. Pillion rider Mustafa is severly injured and is admitted to district hospital. 

The deceased youth - Faraz  - had married the girl with whom he was in love on June 26 and had arrived in the town on Sunday with his friend. 

Few of his friends witnessed the accident between the cement filled tanker on its way from Mangalore to Hassan and the bike.  

In a similar accident again involving a tanker recently, a few feet away from the present spot, Gowramma was killed. 

The mob angered by two of the incidents stoned shops, vehicles and damaged four KSRTC buses completely. The tanker which killed the youth and three other tankers of the same company, more than 10 cars, bikes also were victim of the enraged crowd.

They staged a protest led by ex-MLA H M Vishwanath in front of the body of the youth and urged deputy commissioner to arrive on the spot. 

Deputy commissioner arrived and promised to take up road widening task very soon.
