No starry tantrums for Minissha

Minissha Lamba hasn’t been very visible on the big screen of late, but that doesn’t mean that the starlet isn’t going places.

But despite the fact that she’s a well-known face, she doesn’t have the airs and pomp that many tinsel town stars are notorious for. Rather, she is one actress who clearly show no airs or starry tantrums, while the rest of the industry shows no qualms in doing so.

At a recent photo shoot, Minissha was required to sit on a parapet which was little damp due to excessive rainfall. To everyone’s astonishment, this sporty diva went ahead and posed happily for the shutterbugs without worrying about her dress getting wet. When her manager rushed to wipe the parapet, she calmly asked him to relax and said — “ the dress will go for a wash.”

Kudos to her professionalism as she manages to set an example for the other Bollywood beauties.

When Ram praised Hanuman

Arun Govil, who starred as Lord Ram in the epic mythological show Ramayan, is all praises for late Dara Singh.

The actor has grown up watching the wrestler-actor on screen, and even got a chance to work with him, since Dara Singh played the character of Hanuman in the popular mythological series.

He remains deeply impressed by the late actor’s diligence on sets and the perfection with which he delivered every shot.

Says Arun, “I had grown up watching Dara Singhji and the thought of acting with him was simply exciting.

I remember him in his wrestling days and always thought he was this big hero. It was during Ramayan that I closely interacted with him.

Even though it was quite difficult for him to shoot in a mask, he would diligently keep his mask on and not eat for 15 to 20 hours. He was so devoted to his role. His knees were failing him but he would go beyond the pain to kneel in the same position Hanuman would.”

A piece of cake for Sanjay
For all those who have been waiting for hardcore Sanjay Dutt-style action, the wait is over.

For director Soham Shah’s upcoming untitled film, the stylish actor has done some unique sword-fighting action stunts in a never been seen before avatar.

To everyone’s surprise Dutt did not require any training to perform the sequence and even finished it days before the planned schedule. How he did that is another story.
Apparently, the actor had mastered the skill of using the Samurai sword ages ago, even before his first film ‘Rocky’.

Very little is known about this talent of the actor because he never got a chance to flaunt it. The actor’s late father, veteran actor Sunil Dutt, had sent Junior Dutt to Japan to learn this form of martial art for a year even before his career began.

And today, years later, when he was informed about the sequence in the film, he put everyone at ease on the sets letting them know that it’s a piece of cake for him and that he would do all the stunts himself.

“He has done a lot of cable work and sword fights. He used the Samurai sword with such ease and comfort. We owe this to Sunil Dutt saab, who had the foresight to send Sanjay to Japan to learn the art,” quips the director.

The action stunts have been choreographed by action director Kanal Kannan, who has done a huge body of work down South.

The unit members were heard saying, “We’ve never seen Sanjay sir with this energy before. He is striking back and he’ll kill it this time.”

The film is 95 per cent complete, with only a few songs and patchwork left. The film also stars Vivek Oberoi, Humaima Mallik and Karishma Tanna along with Dutt.

Two brothers, poles apart

Deewar airs on July 18 at 9 pm on Zee Cinema. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan. As a youth, Vijay struggles as a dockworker. Eventually, he becomes a leading figure in the underworld, while younger brother Ravi is a policeman.

But in the end, it isn’t a question of right versus wrong, the law versus mayhem or even brother versus brother — it’s simply a question of which boy their mother loves more.

Going to Pakistan?

Salman Khan’s upcoming flick Ek Tha Tiger, directed by Kabir Khan, has been generating a lot of hype in tinsel town already.

The actor, who plays a secret agent in the film, has performed quite a few energy-packed stunts for it — and of course, Katrina Kaif’s belly dancing moves only add to the anticipation.

However, the promo of the film has been banned in Pakistan.
Following this ban, Salman Khan is ready to visit the country.
In fact, the actor will be accompanied by director Kabir Khan. Kabir explains, “Neither Salman nor I have ever visited Pakistan.

So why not? We are willing to do anything that’s required to make Pakistanis believe that our project is not against them. I don’t think the trailer being banned is a big deal. Once the film releases, the truth will be out.”
