SRK on the sets of ‘Blue’

Everyone on the sets of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd’s Blue was in for a pleasant surprise on an afternoon last week when none other than Shah Rukh Khan dropped on the sets to meet Akshay Kumar.
The team of Blue was shooting for a special number Fikrana and the Blue theme song with Akshay Kumar and Zayed Khan.
While the crew was in the middle of the shoot, SRK walked on to the sets and greeted Akshay Kumar. The crowds went berserk seeing the two superstars together. The duo then stepped into Akki’s vanity van where they spent nearly 15-20mins chatting with each other.
An eyewitness present on the sets exclaimed, “We knew SRK was shooting nearby but no one expected him to come to the sets of Blue. He surprised everyone including Akshay. They both even posed together for photographs.”
“While we were shooting for Blue on Floor 1 at Filmcity, SRK was shooting on Floor 12 for an automobile commercial. Though the distance is considerably large, Shah Rukh actually walked down all the way to meet Akshay. That was simply incredible,” says a source from the production team.
Looks like a new friendship is brewing in B-Town.

From modelling to acting

Aditya Rajput Singh’s claim to fame are the 120 odd commercials of well-known brands that he has modelled for. The lad even shared space with the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Sourav Ganguly and Shah Rukh Khan in these commercials. Aditya, who had debuted on the silver screen as Urmila Matondkar’s younger brother and Anupam Kher’s son in the critically-acclaimed film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Maara and acted as Ajay Devgan and Kajol’s son in Ajay Devgan’s directorial debut U Me Aur Hum, is now all set to make waves with a hard-hitting commercial film like Mehul Kumar’s Krantiveer Part 2, in which he plays the second lead with Jahan Bloch, who is the daughter of Mehul Kumar.
Aditya confesses that he feels happy when girls hail him as a sex symbol and find him not only cute and charming but also sexy and naughty. His mantra is that though talent is important to click in showbiz, it is necessary to fit the bill looks-wise as well.

Slated for Diwali release

Sohail Khan Productions’ and UTV’s Main Aur Mrs Khanna is ready for Diwali release. The romantic flick hits the theatres on October 16. Starring Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead, Main Aur Mrs Khanna has already generated a lot of curiosity amongst the trade pundits and the audience.
“The release of Main Aur Mrs Khanna is a Diwali bonanza. It’s that much-awaited gift that people look forward to during Diwali,” said a trade analyst. A trade pundit on anonymity said that, “It’s the pairing that’s interesting.
People are looking forward to watch Salman and Kareena on screen. Salman’s presence on television has given his film career a definite boost. The actor’s charisma has increased manifold. It’s as if his career has taken an upward swing. Plus there’s Kareena. The presence of two beautiful people in a film is the like that proverbial icing on the cake.”
The ticket sales of Main Aur Mrs Khanna are expected to be like that of the hot pakodas on a rainy day. “Kaminey was a serious film. Life Partner was a comedy. While the other films have not lived upto the mark. In this situation, people have thirsted for a romantic film and Main Aur Mrs Khanna is one film that everybody is looking forward to,” said a trade analyst.

‘I am not retiring’

Queen of melodies, Lata Mangeshkar recently spoke about her views on the current trends in the music industry, and about why she has hardly sung any film songs in the last few years. “I am certainly not retiring. I have done private albums in these two years. The surgery on both my knees had slowed me down but now I’m fine. I love singing  devotional songs now,” she said. “I don’t really like the songs that are being made by Bollywood today. I must say that we have great singers with lovely voices but the songs are not as good as they used to be in our times. They don’t excite me anymore,” she added.

Hitting the right notes?

Well looks like music is the mood of the moment for actor Akshay Kapoor. We hear Akshay who was recently seen in Vishal Pandya’s Three, is now learning the guitar. While the actor is all set for his forthcoming dance based movie Fast Forward that will release soon, interestingly its not dance, but music that has caught his fancy and the man is now learning the guitar.
He realises that its not a piece of cake after all. “I have recently started learning the guitar. It’s surely not as easy as I thought especially when it comes to getting your fingers practically numb. But I’ve always wanted to strum the guitar like a pro and hope to learn it soon enough.”
But looks like the man has more reasons than what it appears. When asked about his sudden interest, he jokes, “Well it’s also one of the easiest ways of getting into a woman’s heart!” Looks like someone's trying hard to get the right note!
