Sang the dashing gondoliers in their characteristic blue and white striped tee shirts, straw hats and red scarves who had flown all the way down from The Venetian in Macao, to give Bangloreans a tiny taste of the luxury and entertainment that the hotel has to offer. Steeped in Italian elegance right from the Grand Canal shopping mall designed on the lines of old Venice complete with bridges, gondolas, cafes and balconies to the 3,000 suites, The Venetian is all geared up to give the Asians a true Las Vegas style hotel and casino experiences ranging from gaming to shopping and entertainment.

“The leisure and dining options alone cater to families, honeymooners, mature guests or children ensuring that all ages and interests are well taken care of. We have Zaia, the resident show of Cirque du Soleil which is pure mind boggling world class entertainment at its finest. There are over 30 fine-dining restaurants, a 1,000 seat international food court, three long canals where you can experience an actual gondola ride and an outdoor lagoon the size of 11 Olympic swimming pools,” says Mabel Wu, Public Relations manager of The Venetian. All set to woo the Indian market, the hotel has already hosted the IIFA awards in true Bollywood style and eight Indian weddings till date.

“We are wholly-owned and operated by Las Vegas Sands Corp and are offering special packages to Indian tourists and business travellers. We are also geared up to host Indian weddings, so  that couples can have their dream or fantasy come true at our hotel,” said Mark Russel, senior vice-president — sales and marketing. 

“Our resident show Zaia is 90 minutes of sheer magic with a cast of 75 international performers of very high calibre. The theatre itself can seat 1,800 spectators and the special effects and stunts that have been specially created are guaranteed to take your breath away,” says Eddie Ying, who is part of the management team of Zaia.
Jet Airways has also teamed up with The Venetian and is operating special flights from selected Indian cities.
