Last Updated 19 July 2012, 16:24 IST

The naxals who had made their presence felt by appearing in Shishila few days ago, appeared again in the villages of Shiradi region in Puttur taluk on Wednesday and Thursday.

A team of five members including four men and one woman visited a house in Addahole in Shiradi Ghat on Wednesday at 7.30 pm. According to the house owner, the naxals team visited the house and requested for food. Apparently they stayed in the house for two hours, during when they had food and charged their laptop. The naxals borrowed two kgs of rice, sugar and onions from the house owner and fled the spot.

The team visited another house in the same village on Thursday morning from where they again collected rice and other items.

ANF IGP Alok Kumar who visited the spot late in the Thursday afternoon told media persons that the naxals seemingly changed their camp after learning the movements of the ANF personnel.

In Hebri

Even as the issue of naxals recent visit to Shishila in Dakshina Kannada district is still afresh, the news of naxals visit to Honnakoppala and other villages in Kabbinale on June 16 has come to limelight on Thursday. When the ANF and the district police have focused their combing operation in Belthangady taluk, it seems like the naxals have fled from the taluk and have moved to Karkala taluk. There has been no record of naxals visit to Hebri station limits, since the murder of Idu Sadashiva Gowda by naxals in Kabbinale.

According to the sources, the naxals team of six members consisted of four men and two women. There are also rumours that Kodlu resident naxal leader Vikram Gowda led the naxal team which visited Hebri.
