Art teachers demand appointments, stage stir

Art teachers forum staged a protest on Thursday in Chamarajanagar urging State government to appoint art teachers for primary and high school. 

The teachers in a rally from Chamarajeshwara temple reached DC office wearing drawing placards via double road and submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner.

The teachers said that there are 10,000 trained art teachers in State, who fear age bar due to delay of appointment. Presently art teachers are not appointed even at Morarji Desai and Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential Schools. 

The teachers demanded cancellation of recognition of aided and unaided schools which do not have art teachers. They said the appointment should be done in priority for those reaching the age limit. 

They alleged irregularities in appointment of art teachers for residential schools. They urged for a strict action against CEO who is not taking action against the schools. C M Sampathkumar, Nagesh Sosle, C Rajashekar, Rajesh, Kale Nataraju, Kumar Gadde, Anil Kumar, S Kumar were present.
