In true spirit of brotherhood

Id-Ul-Fitr observed with prayers for peace and harmony

It was a heartening sight to see people wishing each other by embracing in the true spirit of brotherhood, going beyond the barriers of class and creed. At Bagepalli special khatva was delivered by the maulvi of Jamia majid, who gave a call to the community to give up jealousy, selfishness and to give up arrogance. He also mentioned how a few handful of miscrients are bringing bad reputation to the entire community. Love is the only means to get rid of hatred, he said.

MLA Sampangi , former CMC president Narasimha Naidu, Youth Congress president H N Narendra and others participated in the prayer and wished the Muslim friends. At Bangarpet Muslims were joined by Hindu  friends in observing Ramzan. A mammoth procession was taken out from all the mosques and assembled at the Idgha maidan at  10.30 am.

Several maulvis had arrived at the maidan and each read out and rendered commentary of excerpts of Quran.  After the prayers again the crowd left in processions along the main streets of the City.

MLA M Narayana Swamy  with a cap on his head embraced Muslim friends. Leaders of several political parties and CMC members also wished the community leaders. At Gowribidanur the MG Road was crowded with people hurrying to the Idgah maidan. Tight security was provided by the police to avoid any ontoward incident. MLA N H Shivashankar Reddy, former MLA N Jyothi REddy, BJP leader N M Ravinarayana Reddy, Taluk Panchayat vice -president Prakash Reddy and others participated in the prayers and offered wishes to the Muslim friends.
