JOIN USSuper Division champions KGF Sports Academy, who clinched the title for the first time this season, were awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 by the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) at the Bangalore Football stadium on Thursday.
The cheque was handed over to the team by KSFA President AR Khaleel after an exhibition match between KGF Academy and runner’s up Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HASC).
HASC, meanwhile, received a purse of Rs 30,000 from the KSFA for being the second best team in the league. KGF Academy had rounded off their campaign with 22 points from nine matches while HASC finished with 20 from nine games.
In the exhibition game, KGF Academy edged past HASC 2-1. Kalandar (12th) and Stephen (55th) struck the goals for the winners while RC Prakash netted HASC’s solitary goal in the 29th minute.
