First global MBA in media, entertainment

 24x7 Learning is offering this programme under the aegis of AVAGMAH, its continuing education initiative. 

According to 24x7 Learning CEO KS Karthik, “Media and entertainment is one of the fastest growing sectors in India, and faces dearth of skilled professionals. The majority of influx in the industry currently is of plain graduates who take a while before assuming responsibility. The Global MBA programme will address the urgent need of professional managers in the industry. Here, the students will learn the business; the in-and-out of media and entertainment industry and will be completely ready to take on responsibility as soon as he/she is employed.”

Network 18 Group Head-HR Rajneesh Singh Says , “With the Indian Media & Entertainment Industry set to grow to from Rs 58,400 crores in 2008 to Rs 68,700 crores by 2010, there is an acute shortage of managers with necessary industry knowledge and orientation. This management programme will help us find the managers we need to support growth of our group.”

The programme will draw faculties from top B Schools, with industry gurus as guest faculties. The programme, supported by Network 18, exposes students to global case studies, live projects viz. IPL case study, etc. and they will also go through a mandatory Internship Programme.

The current industry partners for the programme are CNBC TV 18, Infomedia18, Colors, MTV, Studio 18, Nickelodeon and CNN IBN. Partners will assist in internship and placement for eligible candidates. The two-year Global MBA programme will cover TV, Film, Radio, Music and Live Events industries.
