New breed of drivers

Racer Girlz’ airs on July 29 at 9 pm on Turbo. Across the globe, a new breed of street racers is emerging on the ultra-competitive scene: surprisingly, many of them are female drivers and mechanics with an obsession with driving 
fast. ‘Racer Girlz’ follows the young women of the speed scene and reveals the dramatic and compelling stories behind this new breed of street racers. They are serious about what they do and constantly fight stereotypes in order to be seen as fast drivers — not just fast females.

Fight sequences to die for

This week, ‘Awesome Threesome’, airing on July 28 at 7 pm on Zee Studio, will feature the best of kung fu. At 7 pm, ‘Shanghai Nights’ will air. The movie focusses on Chon, whose father is murdered by a Chinese rebel. The rebel escapes to England and Chon, along with Roy, make their way to England with revenge on their minds.

This will be followed by ‘Kiss of Dragon’, which airs at 9 pm. In this movie, a betrayed intelligence officer enlists the aid of a prostitute to prove his innocence in a deadly conspiracy while returning a favour to her. At 11 pm, ‘Shaolin Soccer’ airs — the story revolves around a young Shaolin follower, who reunites with his discouraged brothers to form a soccer team using their martial arts skills to their advantage.

Trip across a continent

From aspiring to study medicine in the US to accidently becoming a model while searching for her roots in Taiwan, Janet Hsieh takes great pleasure in exploring the hidden treasures of Asia as the host of ‘Fun Asia’.  The bubbly, daring and fun Janet explores the real characteristics of a place.She goes beyond the regular tourist haunts to get viewers much more than what even the locals know. 

And she tags along with not just well-informed guides but even expats and curious locals.

Mystery to solve

In tonight’s episode of Adaalat, after the premiere of a movie, actress Sweeny’s boyfriend Gajendra fights with the producer for not giving her the appropriate role as promised. Later, a dead body is found next to the seat of the producer. The needle of suspicion is pointed towards Gajendra as he was beside the dead body with the vial of poison in his hand. Will KD be able to solve this case? Tune in to Adaalat at 7.30 pm on Sony Entertainment Television. 

Disguised as a boy

Dil Bole Hadippa is a story of a girl who fights for what she wants — Heera Kaul, whose dream is to represent the Indian Tigers cricket team. 

She dons the disguise of a turbanned Sikh, complete with a beard and mustache, and calls herself Veer Pratap Singh. In this view, she manages to convince the brash team captain, Rohan Singh, to include her in his team. Things seem to be going well until she is accused of making eyes at Rohan’s leggy girlfriend, which may just blow her cover.

As the battle draws nearer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1’ airs on HBO at 9 pm on July 28. Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality — the Horcruxes. On their own, without the guidance of professors or protection of Dumbledore, they now have to rely only on each other. But, there are dark forces which threaten to tear them apart — the long-feared war has begun and Voldemort’s Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts, terrorising and arresting anyone who opposes them.

Harry’s only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him. But as he searches for clues, he uncovers an old, forgotten tale — that of the Deathly Hallows.

He is drawing closer to the task for which he has been preparing since he first stepped into Hogwarts — the ultimate battle with Voldemort. The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and Alan Rickman.
